Year One Visit Penistone Church

Year one have had a fantastic time today visiting Penistone Church.

As part of our RE curriculum, the children visited the church and learnt about its features and history.

Father Neil explained to us about how the church was like God's home, and that we were all very welcome in his house!

As a special part of our visit, Father Neil taught the children how to pray, we were very excited to learn a new way of saying Amen!

Thank you for a fantastic day - we certainly learnt a lot!

Skipton Castle

Year One have had a fantastic time today at Skipton Castle.

The children enjoyed a guided tour of the castle - learning a lot about how the castle was built and used.

Some of our favourite parts included the dungeons, the lord and lady's dinner and especially the toilet!

When we went into the dungeon we got to find out what life was really like for the prisoners when the lights went out!

Year 6 Hawes - Tuesday 14th June

Today they went to the rope factory and Headrow Falls

Year 6 - Baking

Some Year 6 children spent today baking and decorating cupcakes. To link up with other activities in school they decorated them with a road safety theme and sold them at the Alzheimers Society Cupcake sale.

Alzheimer's Cupcake Day

Today the KS2 school council organised a cup cake sale in aid of the Alzheimers Society. Over £90 was raised, thank you for all your support and contributions.

The Great Brake Walk

Today 260 children from Year 2 to Year 6 took part in Brake's Giant Walk.
This was to show their support for road safety, slower safer driving and the benefits of walking. Tesco staff also joined in the walk to show their support and to also encourage parents to use our new 'Park and Stride' scheme where they can park at Tesco and walk to school.
