Young Voices - KS2 Choir

The children in the KS2 Choir sang their hearts out at the Young Voices Concert at Sheffield Arena last night.  They have all worked incredibly hard to learn all of the pieces, and it definitely paid off!  I think it can be agreed that the Young Voices Concert, singing with over 5,000 children, was an experience that we will never forget (and certainly not forgetting the Mannequin Challenge!).  To share the stage with performers such as Natalie Williams, the Beatbox Collective and Tabby Callaghan was a fantastic opportunity.  I am very proud of everyone involved in the choir, your behaviour was impeccable, and your singing was beautiful.  I can’t wait for many more exciting opportunities to come - possibly Young Voices again next year!  Thank you choir; and thank you parents for your support.

FIT4LEARNING LAUNCH!

Today marked the start of the FIT4LEARNING initiative at PSJP, where all children got to opportunity to socialise, improve their fitness and most importantly, have fun whilst running around our school field. Children relished the challenge of trying to complete 5 laps, which equates to a mile. Don't worry if you did not hit your target though, children. There is always tomorrow!

The Morning Mile

All our EYFS children completed the morning mile challenge while on Welly Walk this week. They did 3 circuits of the field on the new path!

KS2 Choir at Tesco

As part of the fundraising for our upcoming Young Voices Concert at Sheffield Arena; the children in the KS2 Choir performed a number of Christmas Songs and Carols to the customers of Tesco.  They performed to such a high standard, and were a credit to the school.   Their beautiful voices, and smiling faces meant that we have managed to raise a total of £35.07.  This is a fantastic achievement, and very generous of the public.

When we returned to school, we were very happy to receive an email from a customer at Tesco's this afternoon.  This is what it said:

Congratulations to your brilliant choir!
I have just returned from Tesco where I assumed I was listening to a recording as I trundled along the aisles.  When I eventually found the choir I spent the next 20 minutes listening to them, in tears naturally!  They were excellent in every respect and a credit to you.  I'm off to hear the Messiah, performed by the Huddersfield Choral next week.  They are going to have to be on top form to beat that experience.
Well done and have a Happy Christmas!

What a lovely email to receive!  Thank you very much to the sender, as it will be shared with children and reflects all of their hard work this term.

I am very proud of all of the children, and can't wait for a fantastic 2017!  Have a wonderful Christmas everyone!
