Sport Relief and Easter Activities with the Polar Bears!

Yesterday, the Polar Bears had a fantastic day celebrating Sport Relief and completing Easter activities! First, we learnt about the Sports Relief charity and participated in different sporting activities including Table Tennis and football. A huge thank you to everyone for your donations!
In the afternoon, the Polar Bears also took part in an egg hunt and egg rolling competition. Congratulations to Oliver for being our champion egg roller!
Finally, it was also Miss Russell and Mr Carratt's last day and so we would like to say a HUGE thank you to them for all of their help this year!

Science Day Raffle KS1

KS1 Science day raffle

As part of our science day, KS1 held a gadget shop and raffle. Thanks to everyone who came to the gadget shop; it was a great success and any funds raised will go towards organising even more fun science activities!

The raffle was drawn today...

First prize went to Ines and second prize went to Ruby. Here's what they won:

Class 5 egg rolling competition

Class 5 egg rolling

The super-skilled egg rollers of class 5 were out in full force this afternoon and the competition was fierce! A few came close but none could better William Dodd, who hit the target exactly. Well done Will!

Class 6 - Easter Activities

Class 6 have had a great afternoon creating their own Spring artwork.  They have used different techniques, such as a blue wash for the sky, painting for the stalks and printing with forks for the tulips.  What brilliant artists we have!

Later on, we had a fun afternoon in the Egg Rolling Competition.  The children's challenge was to roll their egg as close to Miss Masters as they could.  We did have one winner, whose egg was unbelievably close to Miss Masters!  Well done!

3RR- Sport Relief 2016

In 3RR we have had a wonderful morning in aid of Sport Relief. First, we watched videos to see where our money goes, and discussed how we can make a difference to the world. Following this, we played lots of team building games, and had lots of fun! We played; 'diminishing island', 'Noughts and crosses' and 'Just Dance'. Thank you to all who donated this morning, wishing you a very Happy Easter! Miss Ransom and the Blue Whales.

Science Day in Year 5

Pi day with Year 5

Monday 14th March was Pi Day (3.14 in US terms...!). Year 5 did loads of fun circle activities and learned a little about pi. Mrs Jones set the challenge to learn the digits of pi. Lots of children accepted the mission. Alex memorised an amazing 83 digits and was a worthy winner of his pie prize! Well done Alex...and congratulations to all who had a go.

Easter Celebrations with EYFS and KS1

EYFS and KS1 have had a brilliant morning of Easter celebrations!

The children had some very special visitors to their assembly - the Easter Bunny and Chick, who left the children some very special gifts for them to find around the school.

Furthermore, the children have brightened up the streets of Penistone with their Easter Bonnet Parade.  The children have designed and created some wonderfully creative bonnets and the parade was brilliant.

Thank you to all parents and carers who helped out and watched the Easter Bonnet Parade, we hope you had as much fun as we did!
