Year 2 have had a blast for Science Day!

Wow!  What an exciting day Year 2 have had for British Science Week!  This morning started off with a blast (quite literally) with the children creating their own rockets and learning about thrust and pressure to launch them.  It was really exciting to see whose rocket went the highest.

We have also had an unexpected visit from an alien, who left behind their slime in the classroom.  We became Alien Researchers for the afternoon and tested the properties of this slime to see if it could be bent, stretched, squashed or twisted.  Year 2 had some very creative ideas for what we could use the alien slime for on earth.

Moreover, we have had some very special visitors into school today, linking with our science learning of habitats and animals, the children were lucky enough to meet and learn about real tortoises and snakes.

Furthermore, the children have created their own kites and exploring how to make them fly outside.

The children have worked extremely hard and produced some fantastic pieces of work.  Well done Year 2!
